February Open / Provincials

By: Sergei Soloukhin - Mar. 07, 2011

February Open and Junior Provincials

I just want to make a quick recap on the last two meets in February, after all it is the end of the Short Course Season.

As I mentioned to our swimmers earlier, that it is not always easy to swim your best times during the meet, assuming that not too many practices were missed and all attended practices were worked out to the coaches’ expectations respectively, and yet no one has a warranty that the best times will be produced during the competition…..

Indeed, something else is required during the meet to swim your best. It is the ability to overcome the stressful environment which competition always presents. In simple form most of us call it an extra notch, “Get extra notch out of yourself”, “Perform on Demand”, etc…. In modern society this quality has extreme value….

From this point I was very keen to see who will be able to get this extra notch out of yourself and come up with at least one personal best time at the end of the SC Season.
